NemaFence® Phasma – efficient curative control of soil-dwelling slugs

Parasitic nematodes offer rapid control of slugs

  • Efficient biological control of soil-dwelling slugs - with Phasmarhabditis californica beneficial nematodes
  • Rapid control - when used curatively in moist soil
  • Controls various spp - Arion spp, Grey field slug (Deroceras reticulatum) Brown field slug (Deroceras panormitanum) Greenhouse slug (Lehmannia valentiana)
  • Can also controls small snails – living in the substrate
  • Low temperature tolerant - effective in soil temperatures of 5°C to 30°C
  • Easy to use - safe for humans, animals and environment and no pest resistance issues

How NemaFence® Phasma works

  • Infectious juvenile nematodes penetrate host through natural openings
  • Once in body cavity, releases symbiotic bacteria to quickly killed host
  • Infected slugs stop feeding within 3 to 5 days
  • Nematodes multiply in the slug
Eventually the slug dies due to toxic compounds produced by the symbiotic bacteria
  • New infectious nematodes released to search for more soil-dwelling slugs
